Does anyone know what this song is about? It's on Vintage Violence.

Gideon was one of the Judges and it's also an organization dealing in
free bibles. But the song mentioned a fort of China....

Is there a John Cale message board? I've never seen one.

Good question. Don't know about Gideon. Somehow like the song...
Well, someone told me once nobody cares for John Cale, Lou is big in the
U.S. that's right, but John Cale, who's John?
Seems that noone is really interested in Cale songs that much but I tell ya
if you ever saw him perform live you'll never forget him.

I much prefer John Cale to Lou Reed. I've seen him live a few times
(once with Lou Reed doing that "Songs for Drella" thing at Brooklyn
Academy of Music, and he's always excellent. Once was with The Violent
Femmes opening for him, when they were brand-spankin' new -- an
interesting double bill.

However, I've lost touch with Cale a bit, and not heard his last few
albums, whereas I used to buy each new release eagerly. How do people
like his last few studio albums?
